Because sometimes...you just need to break something!
About Us
Founders Sarah Lavely and Ed King opened Sarah's Smash Shack with the hope of bringing a little levity to life's
trials and tribulations.  Our goal is to allow people to let go, let loose and go home with a smile on their face.  The inspiration for the Smash Shack came to Sarah at an especially low point in her life.  She literally woke up one day and thought "I wish I could just go somewhere and break some things.  Hmmm...other people must feel this way, too.  I should open a shop where people can come and break stuff!"  And, so the Smash Shack was born.

Sarah is a Southern California native.  Prior to opening the Smash Shack, she practiced veterinary medicine for almost 11 years, with a special interest in veterinary emergencies.  She loves the field, and plans to return to it, donating her skills and time, in the form of free spay/neuter programs in the states and across the borders, where help for animals is so desperately needed.  But for now she is completely focused on the Smash Shack and she truly loves the experience of watching the Smash Shack's clients let loose and have a great time.  In her own words, "I can't believe it, but I actually enjoy watching our clients break things even more than I enjoy doing it myself!  But don't get me wrong, I still take full advantage of the Break Rooms, whenever I need a little release!"

Ed
is also a Southern California native, currently residing in Clairemont.  He has worked in the veterinary field all across the country for 18+ years, side by side with Sarah for many of those.  When he heard Sarah's idea for a shop where people could break stuff, he could not resist getting involved.  An avid sports fan, especially football (GO CHARGERS!) Ed really enjoys watching games at home or in person, beer in hand.  In his own words, "Beer is Good!"

Eheyeh "Hey Hey's" (the shop dog) favorite thing in San Diego:  City Dog (Hey Hey's groomer, healthy dog food & bling supplier & home of his girlfriend), downtown at Market & Park.
